Desk research was conducted\nto identify innovative and effective learning\/teaching approaches for working\nwith older people. Based on this inventory, best practices and innovative\nteaching methods were identified and examples of good practice were provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Researchers from the partner universities were\ncontributed to the research. Students were involved in this research. The\nresearchers were responsible for the quality of the research done by the\nstudents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The research started with defining of innovative method\nand criteria for selection of methods. \nAnother step was defining of elements and type of description for each\nmethod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Different countries have\nparticipated in this desk research to provide the best inventory possible. Project participants from different countries\n(26) have made an inventory of effective learning\/teaching approaches that they\nuse or know. Translated in national\ndocuments if necessary. Based on this inventory, best practices and\ninnovative teaching methods were identified based on the research, and examples\nof good practice were created and\/or provided. This desk research includes a\nsurvey among the different participants. This approach (survey) also allowed\ndefining cultural differences that might be present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inventory has focused on\ninnovative and effective learning\/teaching approaches used in training of\nhealth and social workers and focused on supporting interaction skills.\nInnovative learning approaches for working with the elderly were identified;\nopportunities have been described. Desk research included an inventory of\ninnovative learning\/teaching approaches that are already used in different\ncountries in the training of health and social workers. Both innovative\nlearning approaches focused on working with the elderly and innovative\napproaches that might be useful for that purpose but has not been focused on\nthe elderly yet were part of the inventory.
