My name is Horst Schwiebert
I was born in Zeven, a little town in the North of Germany.
I also grew up in Zeven and started my professional carreer in the nearby city of Bremen as an apprentice for the export-import business.
The profession and and my urge to always look for something new led me to Lima / Peru in 1960 where I stayed for 4 years. After my return home I was working in various cities of Germany: In Wolfenbüttel (North), Weinheim and finally in Ulm (both South). As Export Manager in a large food company I got around the world. The pleasure to travel is still existing also as a retired person. I am especially interested in the ODE project because I think I can pass on my knowledge of and experience in foreign countries and I can contribute to solutions of improving the understanding between people of different nations. What I would like to communicate to our partner countries is the attempt to reduce the prejudice and stereotypes about the Germans. Regarding Italy and Spain I wonder whether my prejudice is wrong or correct that the people there like to drink only their own wine and to eat only the food/dishes from their own country.
