My name is Lilo Nold
I was born in Neu-Ulm (neighbour town of Ulm) and grew up without sisters and brothers. I married in 1958. I have no children. Since 1989 I'm a widow. Since 1994 I'm a member of ZAWiW and cooperated in several projects of the group EUROPAKONTAKTE.
I attended the Secondary School and the Commercial School and was trained as a secretary. After school up to my retirement I worked in several offices; for a very long time in a wellknown international company as secretary of the Export Manager. During these years I had a lot of contacts with people from foreign countries. In the 60ies I had the opportunity to attend international fairs in which our company participated so e.g. Poland, Romania, Russia und Yugoslavia.
In this project I am looking forward to having the possibility to communicate with people of foreign countries without knowing their language. I would like to learn much of their way of life and I'm looking forward to the personal contacts we will have in their countries and during their visits here.
What is interesting to know about my country:
- 23 649 people from Belgium
- 113 023 people from France
- 601 258 people from Italia
- 326 882 people from Poland
- 125 977 people from Spain
- 19 404 people from Sweden
Germany is now a "multi-culti" country. When economy increased in the 60ies Germany looked out for foreign workers. Italian workers where the first who came, followed by workers from Spain, Greece and Yugoslavia. Later on there was the immigration of the Turkish people, first the men came alone, afterwards their families came too.
Nowadays there live in Germany e.g.
