Summary of Results

Stand:

4. Could you test the use of the new media during your work on your research subjects?

4.1. Use of e.mail
Five of the groups (Lyon, Arnhem, Budejovice, Ulm, Granada) could test the use of e-mail, Vicenza not at all (reason given: access to Internet only at University, not at home). Ulm pointed out that the use of e-mail was tested mainly on national basis. Insufficient access to computer was given as hindering factor (Granada, Vicenza).

4.2. Use of the forums
The use of the forum was explored by each group to a different extent. Difficulties were experienced in the user-friendliness of the forum and knowledge of languages. Ulm group pointed out, that the tests were more successful in groups (with a tutor).

4.3. Processing material for the homepage (html, picture processing, layout, etc.)
Almost all groups answered “medium”, Granada “much”. Noted is the large learning effect in this area, interesting subject, satisfaction with the final result. The rate “Medium” reflects also the fact, that not all members in the groups have been involved with this type of activity and members in the group specialised.

4.4. Working with the Internet (e.g. Internet research)
Almost all groups have used the Internet for research and for information from other SoLiLL sites. Difficulties were experienced by Vicenza, as not enough material was available in the mother tongue.
