Activity of our volunteers among children and young people is one of the most visible form of realisation  of an idea of voluntary in a modern society. Besides of
formal forms of education, activity of volunteers may serve as a supplementary form of handing down the line of generations  history, culture, experience and
knowledge.

All these forms of voluntary activity were presented in Ljubljana in the form of DVD.

The very important point of the meeting in Ljubljana was to set a time schedule for the FINAL REPORT, which is set to be finalized by the end of month September.
The Polish-SUTW team of volunteers will work very hard in order to complete its part of the Report.

Discussing the idea of voluntary activity based on the results of the Project, Urszula Wyrwa-acting President of SUTW-had satisfied herself with an opinion that
voluntary activity allows one to get a full  self-satisfaction and present an occasion to meet others, to get and to stay in touch, to free oneself from a fear of living
“almost forgotten”.
Members of SUTW took part in the workshop during which a net of computer connections was set working with an aim to improve creative writing and interchange
of information via ”on line” links.
Finally, the five countries and six national teams had to say goodbye to each other which were the most difficult moments of the meeting. The Project with all
the essential tasks it prescribed for each team participating, had been an unforgettable experience in the sense of getting known each other, making friends,
remembering their towns and countrysides we had for quick blink of the eye a chance to see.

The members of SUTW volunteers group would like to thank you all of Partners for their kind cooperation with us, for having extended hospitality during our
stay in their countries and for being with us in Słupsk.

SUTW from Poland working

All listeners to the Polish Radio Koszalin and Słupsk, had a possibility to listen  the voices of the SUTW volunteers speaking “on air”. On 20th of June on the local
radio waves in Slupsk Mrs Urszula Wyrwa, Mrs Nelly Czupajlo and Mr Jerzy Berendt were presenting a broad spectrum of actions  prompted by the Grundtvig
Project  “Tell me about your commitment”.
The Project, shortly to be finalized and recapitulated, in assistance of five different countries; Spain, Austria, England, Slovenia and Germany was aimed at promoting
voluntary activity in all possible social groups in particularly young and elderly people. The most active volunteers from the countries participating had a chance
to meet for the purpose to talk on their experiences and to share the knowledge on how to be of help to those in need.
SUTW (Słupski Uniwersytet Trzeciego Wieku) is proud to be the partner in this project and hopes that it wasn’t the only occasion to work in company of other
countries.

 One of the point in the Final Report form calls for a description of “an added value”  of the “Tell me about your commitment” Project, which in the company of six different organizations comes to the completion within short time now.

However, before the final farewell words will be spell out, we-the Slupsk’s University of Third Age Grundtvig team members-would like to tell everyone around about what has happen during and after the Grundtvig meeting in Slupsk, sometime between middle of October 2011 and the New Year Day the same year.

The participants of the conference, in among many others activities, were visiting the “Occupational Therapy Daily Workshop” for, mostly young, the Down Syndrome, effected people. There was Mr Heinz Kubicka,  among visiting members of the Grundtvig Vienna  group who took a special attention to the general conditions in which the rehabilitation process in the          Centre is organized and executed.
The Centre, with its financial resources based mainly on the Local Administration budget support, and with steady increase of number of patients coming in, lags behind in its technical equipment either for the purpose of rehabilitation, recreation or living condition.

Mr Heinz Kubicka, on his return back to Vienna, he had sent us the letter with a splendid offer of a financial donation, which he intended to collect in among of Vienna  Evangelical Church members.

And they did it!

By the end of the year 2011with all the formalities properly done, the donation of around 1.000€ was presented to the Director of the Therapy Centre, Mrs Iwona Grota.

Mrs Iwona Grota, who with great love and dedication towards her responsibilities and patients presides over the institution has decided to use the unexpected donation for the purpose to improve their kitchen equipment.
The improvement was met with great joy and admiration.
The kitchen is a vital place in the process of rehabilitation and self-support training of patients under her charge.

We, as the members not only of the Grundtvig team, but as members of the University of Third Age in Slupsk, got onto the idea of presenting Mr Heinz Kubicka action as the exemplary  “Gift right from the heart” and “ the added value” to the whole “Tell me about your commitment” Grundtvig Partner Project.

It is our pleasure to send you, on behalf of Slupsk’s University of Third Age group of Volunteers, our thanks for your hospitality during the recent visit to Ljubljana.
The visit within the Grundtvig Project “Tell me about your commitment” gave us a possibility to get know  people of Slovenia, Slovenian  capital city of Ljubljana as well as very quick
look at your society which only recently joined EU. Through the passioned discussions during the workshop time, we had a chance to interchange information on number
of topics related to Voluntary activity in your country in comparison to the experiences of our own. We congratulate you the idea of sharing a knowledge and
practical experience within the KADIS institution and its Learning Programme mainly oriented for young and older people. Thanks to this Programme you bring an opportunity
for better future of the young generation and better quality of life for older generation.You do an excellent job

And here is a additional report about two meetings in Berlin and Slupsk with their theater groups:

Es war nicht geplant, aber dennoch ein großartiges Ergebnis unseres Projekts: Laientheateraufführungen in Berlin und Slupsk.

Und das kam so: Während unseres ersten Treffens der Koordinatoren in Barcelona wurde von jeweiligen Theatergruppen in Berlin und Slupsk/Polen berichtet. Beide Seiten fanden es eine schöne Idee, eine Aufführung in der jeweiligen Partnerstadt zu organisieren, vorausgesetzt, so eine Begegnung wäre zu finanzieren.

 Im Laufe des Winters 2010/2011 wurde diese Idee konkretisiert, einige Sponsoren waren angetan von der Idee und bereit, einen kleinen Zuschuss zu geben und so konnte der Besuch der Theatergruppe der Slupsker Universität für das 3. Lebensalter hat in der Zeit vom 22. Juni bis zum 26. Juni in Berlin stattfinden. 16 Teilnehmer bildeten die Theatergruppe, die mit einem Minibus und ihren Requisiten angereist kamen.

Um die Kosten der Begegnung in einem erträglichen Rahmen zu halten, waren alle Teilnehmer privat bei unseren Vereinsmitgliedern untergebracht. Obwohl nicht alle eine gemeinsame Sprache beherrschten, hat man sich gut verstanden und war sich einig, dass gerade diese private Unterbringung sehr zum Gesamterfolg der Begegnung beigetragen hat.

Gerade auch diese perönlichen Kontakte machten den Erfolg dieser Treffen aus und sind die Basis für eine weitre Zusammenarbeit. Kontakte sind seit dem entstanden und weitere gegenseitige Besuche haben stattgefunden.

Die Teilnehmer haben am Anreisetag an einem Sommerfest teilgenommen. Am darauf folgenden Tag wurde ein Workshop mit der hiesigen Theatergruppe durchgeführt. Es war ein intensiver Austausch, auch durch die engagierte Übersetzungsarbeit einer Slupsker Teilnehmerin. Am Ende des Treffens erfolgte eine Einladung nach Slupsk und man war sich einig, für das darauf folgende Jahr eine Theateraufführung in Slupsk zu organisieren.

 Höhepunkt der Begegnung war dann die Theateraufführung am Freitag. Obwohl der Zuschauerraum nur Sitzplätze für max. 50 Teilnehmer hat, kamen schließlich 70 Zuschauer. Die Aufführung selbst war Anlass für eine anschließende lange Diskussion. Die Theateraufführung wurde zweisprachig durchgeführt und war professionell vorbereitet. Von einem Teilnehmer wurde ein Video mit deutschen Untertiteln hergestellt; die DVD kann bei Interesse gerne zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

 Für den Samstag wurde die Gruppe zu einem Besuch Potsdams eingeladen. Einige Bilder können einen Eindruck von dieser dreitägigen Begegnung geben.

 Der Gegenbesuch war dann im April 2012. Mit zwei Pkw wurden 10 Personen und die Requisiten nach Slupsk gefahren, zwei weitere Teilnehmer nahmen den Zug über Stettin. Die Unterbringung erfolgte in einem kleinen Hotel, was für unsere Zwecke sehr geeignet war.

 Eine Aufführung am Donnerstag im Kulturpalast der Stadt hatte rd. 130 Teilnehmer, die zweite Aufführung am Freitag vor der deutsch sprechenden Minderheit hatte weiter 60 Teilnehmer. Viel Beifall nach beiden Aufführungen belohnte die Teilnehmer. Die Herzlichkeit und die entstandenen Freundschaften wurden während dieser drei Tage vertieft und bekräftigt.

 Wir sind uns sicher, dass es im nächsten Jahr eine weitere Begegnung geben soll. Im Rahmen der begonnen Zusammenarbeit wird auch darüber nachgedacht, gemeinsam ein zweisprachiges Stück einzuüben.

 Die beiden Theaterbegegnungen waren ein sehr schönes Teilprojekt innerhalb des „Tell me…“ Projektrahmens.

Proszę się przedstawić Pani Wando.
Nazywam się Wanda Drozd. Urodziłam się w roku 19..i mam sporo lat. Pochodzę z terenów “najlepszej Polski” czyli z terenów pomiędzy Wisłą a Bugiem, okolica Dęblina gdzie bardzo dostojnie i sentymentalnie płyną Bug i Wisła. Tam kończyłam swoje szkoły i spędziłam lata młodości.Po skończeniu szkoły średniej zostałam z nakazem pracy skierowana do Państwowego Gospodarstwa Rolnego w Zegrzu Pomorskim k. Koszalina.

Mój ojciec zginął najprawdopodobniej na Zamku w Lublinie. Nie mam do dzisiaj żadnej innej wersji jego losów. Mąż walczył w Polskich Siłach Zbrojnych na Zachodzie rozpoczynając swoją wędrówkę do Kraju od obozu w Bernau, potem Iran, Tobruk no i Monte Casino. Daleka droga!
W naszej Polsce pracowałam zawodowo w Słupsku i okolicach. Teraz jestem emerytką i szczęśliwą babcią. Ot i tyle.

Jakie są Pani pasje i zainteresowania?
Całe życie poświęcałam na pracę zawodową, wychowanie dzieci oraz na działalność społeczną. I to mi zostało. Kiedy zostałam sama, skierowałam się do organizacji Caritas, by zapytać czy nie potrzebują pomocy. Potrzebowali! To był rok 2002. Najpierw pracowałam w świetlicy socjoterapeutycznej. Brałam udział we wszystkich organizowanych tam akcjach. Czy to zbiórka darów świątecznych czy też kwesta na rzecz ubogich, szczególnie mi bliskich dzieci. Wykonuję  ręcznie- detale dekoracyjne szydełkowe, które sprzedawane w naszym sklepiku zapewniają część dochodu organizacji.
Były sytuacje w których należało bardziej bezpośrednio zająć się obcą rodziną, także wspomóc finansowo.
Tak zupełnie prywatnie, to mogę dodać iż jestem wziętą działkowiczką i od wielu lat spędzam wiele czasu na działce. To moja ambicja i jednocześnie bardzo piękny wypoczynek.Tu mogę ukoić duszę pięknem przyrody. Szalenie lubię chodzić po górach.

Jak zaczęła się Pani przygoda ze Słupskim Uniwersytetem
W roku 2004, czyli zaraz po uformowaniu się Uniwersytetu, zgłosiłam swój akces i wybrałam jako swoje pole zainteresowania grupę chóralną, biologiczną  oraz przede wszystkim grupę wolontariuszy, której obecnie jestem koordynatorem.
O Uniwersytecie dowiedziałam się od znajomych i nie wahałam się ze wstąpieniem. Uznałam, iż to jest miejsce w którym mogę pogłębić swoją wiedzę, spotkać ludzi dobrej woli i “wyrwać się” z domowej samotności.

Co sprawiło,że  zdecydowała się Pani pracować w wolontariacie.
To sprawa mojej  osobowości i kontaktów z Centrum Wolontariatu w Słupsku. Zadania jakie mi przydzielono wciągnęły mnie jak wir w wodę i wnet podjęłam się organizacji grupy wolontariuszy w SUTW. Pracuję także jako wolontariusz  i poza SUTW. Do tej pracy upoważnia mnie uzyskany Certyfikat Koordynatorów i Opiekunów Koła Wolontariuszy.

Co konkretnie robi Pani jako wolontariuszka. Kto korzystał z Pani działań?
W SUTW wykonuję prace pomocowe udzielane naszym chorym członkom, koordynuję oraz sama wykonuję zadania w instytucjach społecznych takich jak; Dziennym Domu Pomocy Społecznej”Bezpieczna Przystań”, także w Domu Pomocy Społecznej “Leśna Oaza”. Udzielam się w Przedszkolu Integracyjnym nr 8 a także w Warsztatach Terapii Zajęciowej. Tak szacunkowo mogę powiedzieć, iż mam pod opieką ok 250 pensjonariuszy w różnym wieku i o bardzo różnych potrzebach.

Które ze swoich umiejętności wykorzystuje Pani jako wolontariusz?
Przede wszystkim wykorzystuję swoje doświadczenie życiowe, swoją wiedzę a ponadto wiedzę i umiejętności nabyte w trakcie szkolenia specjalistycznego dla koordynatorów. Są to takie podstawowe umiejętności jak prace domowe, w tym kuchenne, szydełkowanie, opieka nad obłożnie chorym, pierwsza pomoc czy bezpieczeństwo i higiena pracy.

Co Pani osobiście uzyskała pracując jako wolontariuszka?
Mam osobistą satysfakcję z faktu iż udzieliłam pomocy komuś w potrzebie. Poprzez pracę jako wolontariuszka czuję, że jestem zauważana, poważana, znana a przede wszystkim pomocna w każdej nieomal sprawie. Poznałam wiele osób które też pracują jako wolontariusze. Tworzymy grupę wewnętrznie zintegrowaną.
Olbrzymią radość sprawia mi pomaganie dzieciom i młodzieży. Ciągle tej pomocy oni młodzi szukają. Oni rozświetlają moje mroczne czasami dni. Uczę się być pokorną wobec ludzkich słabości czy trudnych zdarzeń losowych.

Z czego jest Pani, jako wolontariuszka, bardzo dumna?
Jestem, pracując jako wolontariuszka, o wiele młodsza, czynna, przydaję się innym, mam ciągle motywację by szukać lepszych rozwiązań, pomysłów, czynów. Jestem szczęśliwa widząc zadowolenie podopiecznych. Czuję dumę, gdy mnie zapraszają na okolicznościowe spotkania.
Nie tak dawno jeszcze opiekowałam  się poważnie chorym Tadeuszem. Któregoś dnia powiedział; by Ci nie zabrakło sił do pomocy potrzebującym”. Wtedy poczułam nie tylko wdzięczność ale także wezwanie do pomocy takim jak Tadeusz.

Będzie Pani trwała przy swoich podopiecznych?
Jeżeli tylko siły mi pozwolą; tak. Mam teraz już wsparcie i pomoc osób których namówiłam do wspólnej pracy. Jesteśmy zespołem. Moja praca to także wynik pracy moich koleżanek i kolegów i im także należą się słowa podziękowania za wysiłek, poświęcony czas i zapał.

Czy może Pani liczyć na wsparcie ze strony SUTW?
Mam i mamy pełne poparcie i wszelaką pomoc ze strony SUTW. Pomoc ta wyraża się m.innymi; pomocą w mobilizacji wolontariuszy do poszczególnych akcji pomocowych. Pomoc finansową w wymiarze ograniczonym ale jednak widocznym, skierowania na szkolenia. Dużym wsparciem ze strony SUTW jest dostrzeganie naszej obecności, jej docenianie w formie wyróżnień, dyplomów i podziękowań.
