Our last meeting “Tell me abut your commitment in October 2011 was in Slupsk. We remember and find it very fruitful and interesting. We could present our experiences but we could also learn about your experiences.
We still benefit from being with you although it was such a short meeting.
And now let me tell you an interesting story in connection with our international meeting in Slupsk. During our Conference we visited an institutions where there are people working for those who need help. Among others-there was the Therapy Centre for mental impairment youth. Together with us there was a colleague from Vienna Group- Mr Heinz Kubicka. This Therapy Centre impressed him so much that he decided to act. He had written to our University that his greatest wish is to give a help for the youth in the Therapy Centre.
A Christmas collection in his Evangelical Church in Vienna made his greatest wish  possible. Our University of Third Age was involved in the deal between The Therapy Centre , The Evangelical Church in Vienna and Mr Heinz Kubicka himself. Shortly after The Christmas 2011 the donation of around 1.000€ was available for The Therapy Centre, so that they could buy an electric kitchen for their workshop. Therefore, the Centre and its patients they are very grateful and thankful for this unexpected but extremely useful present.
As a very warm thanks The Evangelical Church in Vienna, Mr Heinz Kubicka they were presented with  Symbolic Hearts (see Gallery) hand made by the young disabled people from the Therapy Centre.
We would like to offer this Symbolic Heart to the collection of souvenirs of the Programme “Tell me about your commitment”.
It is easy to conclude that there is no limit for to the range of Voluntary work and to the examples of wonderful charity. It all happen thanks to our common Programme; “Tell me about your commitment”. Thank you for your attention.

In churches, for the most occasions, masses are  heard and sometimes, nowadays  musical or choir performances are given. Whereas, on 5^th of March the actors- volunteers of Slupsk University of Third Age chosen one of the churches as the stage for their performance. The spectacle was presented to the persons under the charge of the CARITAS organization. The spectacle have been very warmly applauded by this uncommon audience, as it was commented over the cup of coffee served after the curtain went down.

For a couple of days leading to the last Christmas, two of ours wolunteers from SUTW – Mrss Wanda Drozd and Stanislawa Orlowska were very busy helping less fortunate members of our society to collect the food stuff for their Christmas festivities. The activity included the assistance to the “gift box” at the commercial centre in Slupsk. Thanks to this action the “gift box” was filled with foodstuff like; flour, sugar, cereal, dried sausages, sweets and many more.

All the gifts collected were then, through the section of Caritas active at the Maksymilian Kolbe parish,
redistributed to the families and individual persons in need.

All trough the year 2010 we have been celebrating and commemorating the
200th birth anniversary  of the greatest polish composer and pianist- FRYDERYK CHOPIN.

The 12 member team of our volunteers from the Literary Section of our University got onto the project to prepare the verbal-musical performance which would relate to the life and musical compositions of FRYDERYK CHOPIN.

The show included as a leading theme the extracts from the biography of our composer which then were interweaved with the pieces of His musical compositions as well as with the poems and literary texts of famous poets and writers who described the depth and greatness of the FRYDERYK CHOPIN
works.

The play was shown in Slupsk for the general audience of the members of our University and in the vicinity of Slupsk; Debnica Kaszubska, Kobylnica, Ustka, Kępice, Warcino, Bruskowo and Damnica.
The extracts from the poems and novels, a general screenplay , scenography and direction was under the care of Dr Marianna Borawska- academic literature specialist. The music from the archives of Fryderyk Chopin works was provided by Mr Tadeusz Picz.

The presentation of the play was possible thanks to the contribution from the Regional Administration.
