Minutes from the final meeting in Bratislava

16-20 June 2004

All partners have presented the results of their work. Each demonstrated, that the tasks set at the meeting in Alicante were to a great part fulfilled, in some instances even surpassed. This year, the partners have included elements of approaches practiced by other partners and/or other organisations in their work, have developed didactic approaches and effective marketing strategies as well as actions which reach out of their organisational frame to organisations and communities outside. Selected projects from own as well as other organisations were also presented.

It was noted, that the project work led to

  • Mutual understanding of existing systems in IT teaching to seniors and its use
  • The deepening of expertise in the area of IT teaching and use
  • Giving incentives to explore new approaches
  • Further development of existing approaches and activities
  • Creating basis for exchange

In each partner group seniors cooperated actively in the project work, be it collection of model projects and their translation, design and maintenance of websites, creation of presentations, development of didactic approaches and active tutoring, development and implementation of marketing strategies, etc.

The above points will be described in some detail in the final report due by the end of July 04.

The presented results from the common "mini-survey" have shown the benefits to the learners from the project.

The following points were mentioned in relation to future work:

  • Needed is further exchange about issues concerning ICT.
  • Dissemination for impact on larger scale should continue.
  • The work needs to go on to build upon the experiences gained in the project and to develop the concepts further.

Part of the meeting was dedicated to the preparation for the year 3 of the project concentrating on blended learning and Boba Mannova presented some examples of IT solutions to learning environments. The work in year 3 should concentrate on exchange about the existing systems in each country with a proposal for own approach at the end of the year 3.

Present in the meeting was the representative from Grundtvig 2 office in Slovakia, who reminded the partners that all products and publications from the project have to bear the project logo and a reference to funding by the Socrates Grundtvig 2 programme. The partners should check the exact wording with the respective national agencies.
