The first partner meeting in the project year 2003/2004

List of participants is attached. Present was also a representative from the British Council in London as well as new project partners from the University of Alicante.

The meeting included an introduction from the new partner University of Alicante, a report on the current stage of the project, a whole day session in which strategies for year two, concrete work content as well as the division of tasks were decided upon and documented. The partners also tested selected methods of interactive communication and learning over the Internet on the subject of "Europe for Seniors".

A. Overall tasks for the year 2 of the project

 

1. Search for examples of good practice:
- Other model projects and materials which could be adapted to our national situations
- Our national projects which could be adapted by others

More information about projects and activities to be researched and collected on a national level - it is of utmost importance that the partner organisations look outside their walls and collect information about other organisations' projects and activities in their countries.

Collection of materials and contents of model nature on:
 
  • Interactive use of the Internet
  • Special techniques and materials
  • Approaches and strategies
  • Places of learning

2. Dissemination (Publicity materials)

  • CD-ROM to be created at the end of the project. Information through print media, video, the Internet.
  • Presentations through meetings and conferences
  • Invitations to decision-makers and representatives from other organisations to present work in own house
  • Publicity in the press - ZAWiW will make a draft of a letter for the press.
  • Translations of selected project materials into own as well as other languages
  • Presenting selected projects good practice models in the platform "LiLL" www.lill-online.net, section 3 (translations needed!).

Making our work known through national professional associations and associations of U3s, relevant national networks.

B. Tasks until the partner meeting in Alicante in February

 
  • Publicity: Articles for public relations - the press, public bodies (Ulm); Flyer (Glasgow); Video (Czech Republic)
  • Use of forum for interactive work
  • Exploration of other models of learning and communication over the web
  • Translations - contact other organisations individuals (friends, etc.) to help; help with proof reading of translations into English (Glasgow)
  • Publicise selected materials (didactic materials and examples of good practice) in the LiLL homepage (network "Learning in Later Life")

Group 1 Flyer:
Moderation: Glasgow

Flyer (handout) to be used by all participating countries:
In A4 in English with Euconet, Grundtvig and local logo, contact address and logo of the University. Text to be translated into national language, layout will accommodate differences in space lost(gained) in translation.

Each country will send to Glasgow photos to be used in the flyer. These should be of people learning: e.g. someone teaching another senior to use the computer, etc.

Each country will send an idea for contents in October.

  • 30.9.03 selection of relevant texts by each partner of the project, 3 texts per partner, it has to be edited and concise. Glasgow will give selected examples.
  • 31.10.2003 - send all the selected material by e-mail to Glasgow for correction
  • 30.11.03 - correction of the selected materials by the Scottish partners and feedback to each partner.
  • 31.01.04 - all selected texts must be translated in each partners own language and sent to Ulm to be put in the website.

C. The next meeting of the project partners is in Alicante on the 4-8. February 2004.

All partners have to inform Alicante about the numbers of participants from each country.
