Virtual learning project:
New world order or back to the middle age?

A project in cooperation with ViLE Logo

"New world order or back to the middle age?" - that is the question, which the senior's group ViLE of Lübeck is wishing to discuss with other seniors from Europe. Reason for this discussion is the Iraq war being finished quickly due to the huge military predominance of the USA.

Some people are just returning to the order of business. The seniors of the ViLE-group of Lübeck however think that there should be a discussion about the European foreign policy, the foreign policy of the USA and the changed situation in world-wide policy. Discussing as many aspects and opinions as possible, we should find our own view on the development of a new world order and become able to transfer this to other people too. This problem should be dealt with in the virtual learning group "gemeinsamlernen" (collective learning) together with other interested seniors. Following questions we consider to be important:

  • What has changed in American foreign policy since Bush?
  • What is the - perhaps hidden - background of this policy?
  • In which way has changed the situation of the UNO?
  • What is our position regarding the American policy towards the UNO, towards their partners and other states?
  • What is our European view on the changes of world-wide policy?
  • What should Europe's role be like in the future global policy?
This virtual learning project, designed for but not restricted to people over 50, will start from June, 18th 2003 for a first discussion round in a virtual forum. Informations about the project are to be gained by the web site already now.

The participating Lübeck seniors would enjoy many other participants joining the project.

In this learning project also seniors form ViLE-Mittweida and from other European countries are participating in the framework of the Grundtvig learning partnership EuCoNet in order to test innovative means of learning examplarily.
