1. Introduction

Involvement and interest in the subject are important conditions for participating in the self-study group.
From the very start the participants of Senior Citizens and Living felt very much involved. This resulted in a thorough approach. This report will describe the different steps in the research.
In the chapter ¨Conclusions, what did the participants learn? ¨, you will find the results.
A summary of the lecture which members of the group gave for the U3A/Volksuniversiteit shows some thematic aspects and illustrates how the acquired knowledge can be distributed.
By using ¨italics¨ attention is drawn to major experiences or conclusions.

What is good for the elderly is good for everyone.
Facilities for the elderly are often seen as necessities,
the same facilities for the young are called amenities.
