Reply from Ulm
Stand:
Der Willy-Brandt-Platz
As the Willy-Brand-Platz appeared at first sight to be rather an ugly square
of secondary importance in Ulm, its history, unlike the history of the
Münsterplatz (Cathedral Square), was not documented in the past. This gave the
seniors chance to make in a pioneer work a contribution to historical
documentation of the town Ulm. This corner of the East Town of Ulm has always
been a busy traffic point in Ulm. Behind its rather a sober front one could
discover interesting facets of town and architecture history, the town planning
and the city life - in other words, the European history of Ulm.
