VENEZIA

La Rosetta

The traditional Venetian bread appeared towards the end of the 19th century, when Venice was under the Austrian Government. Emperor Franz Josef, frequently went to Venice and brought his personal baker with him to make the "Kaiser Semmel" for the whole court.
This type of bread had the shape of a rose and nowadays, after more than a century, the "Rosetta" is still handmade and is very popular in Venice .
