Bread Dough as Art

Bread dough as art

Since ancient times long forgotten,as children
we have made flour and water paste to stick together books and other objects
which had become broken through use. This paste is no longer used, as we now
have glues which are more easy to use and cleaner, such as play dough, which
could be poisonous, and which stains the hands when it is dyed in different
colours. Bread dough is translucent, of a light bone colour from the bread. It
is ideal for children, because it is non-toxic and does not stain the hands,
and, when hardened is quite strong.
To learn this method of modelling is easy: the
technique doesn´t need an artistic background neither for modelling nor
painting. All that is needed to achieve a beautiful, refined result is patience
and practice.
