Interaction
Stand:
Enforced interaction
Every member possesses a personal reference system which was formed before he or she joins the group. If the group has a free entrance/exit policy and a conflict arises, the person experiencing the conflict can just leave the
group.
On the contrary, if members are not allowed to leave the (as in schools or offices), subgroups of people possessing similar reference systems arise inside the group and show hostility against one
another.
Only interaction can overcome the barriers built by personal reference systems, which, in many cases, are built upon prejudices, stereotypes and
selfishness.
The main task of the coordinator should be not to enforce interaction but to eliminate these
obstacles.
