Universität Belgrad LogoUniversity of Belgrade is the biggest and the oldest higher education institution in the region, founded in 1905, which consists of 31 faculties, 11 research institutes, the University Library and the 6 centers, with about 90 000 (ninety thousand) students and almost 7 000 teachers, researchers and assistants. Study programs are compliant with the Bologna Declaration principles since 2005. The University is composed of the following faculties, classified according to scientific fields in the faculty group: group of Social Sciences and Humanities (where is the Faculty of Philosophy), group of Medical Sciences, group of Sciences and Mathematics and group of Engineering Sciences and Technology.

Faculty of Philosophy is the oldest faculty in University of Belgrade. Classes are held in ten study groups – philosophy, sociology, psychology, pedagogy, andragogy, ethnology and anthropology, history, art history, archeology and classical sciences. Programm of study group of andragogy is based on studies of a number of andragogy disciplines that deal with general and specific problems of adult learning and education.

 

National Foundation for Human Aging dr Laza Lazarevic

Foundation Human Ageing LogoNational Foundation for Human Aging dr Laza Lazarevic was founded in 2002. The Foundation is named after the great humanist, the first gerontologist in Serbia and doctor in encyclopedia of world medicine.

We collaborate with 18 humanitarian and social organizations in Serbia, as well as numerous local, municipal and national institutions and organizations.

Our best implemented practices:

  • Call-Center of the national Telekom operator;
  • Seminar “Creating a humanitarian and socially responsible community” – 2010,
  • 10 conceptual project for facilities – model “Senioren gerechten Stadt”,
  • Preparation for promotion and implementation of OrgaCard in hospitals, gerontology and recreation centers, spas and local communities,
  • Olympic games of health, culture and sport of the Third Age in Soko Banja – three times.

Implemented projects:

  • Projects related to the implementation of the Danube strategy of the European Commission,
  • Joint work in organizing educational seminars for adults with partners from Germany, Romania, Bulgaria etc.

 

University of the Third Age

The University of the Third Age was founded in 1989. by the Institute of Pedagogy and Andragogy of the Faculty of Philosophy, Section of the educational program of TV Belgrade and the Public University “Braća Stamenković”. In 2002. the project “Expanding the network of the University of the Third Age” was initiated, which contributed to the further development of the University. During the twenty years of its existence, the University of the Third Age attended over 10.000 students. Most of them chose art programs, foreign languages, computer literacy, yoga and Tai Chi, dance classes and art workshops of patchwork.
