a:Did people in former times have more respect for bread than nowadays?
What do you think are the reasons?

All questioned people affirmed.Only a small group mentioned the following
reasons:the former faith and the shortage of bread and the hunger(from the 60 age group
onward). Some people think that the abundance in our days leads to a disregard of bread.
(the 81-91 age group)

b: Did they economize bread better?
Most of the questioned people were of this opinion. They thought economy was one of the
reasons" Bread is never thrown away."

c: Does the place where bread was stored tell us something about the respect towards it?
About half of the interviewed people stored bread in earthenware pots, in special bread
cupboards or in tins, in pantries, in moist cloth and on airy boards. The question was not
answered by "yes" but it shows the tendency that the way of storing bread expresses the
respect.

The relation of faith/ religion and higher respect was mentioned more than once: "Respect mainly in faithful Christian families because of the eucharisty.
A 74 years old man remembers: "In the school there was a severe investigation if bread was found in the waste paper box or on the bottom"
