Final Report of the Italian volunteer Group

Geschrieben von mtongiori

At the end of our stay in Ulm, we thank the entire organization ZAWiW that, with the Senior Project, has allowed us to make this exciting experience. Our presence here has been very well organized and we were followed and often accompanied in Italian in order  to facilitate our stay. For this we are grateful to Carmen, to the organizational-technical staff (especially Chirstiane) and to all volunteers that there have been friends.

We have found similarities and, most importantly, some differences between our volunteers and the German ones.
.
There are two aspects of this experience from which we draw inspiration for activities in Tuscany, although with different modes of action and of different relationships with the institutions.

The first is the work of integration of children, women and of the families of immigrants, starting from after-school (OASI65) in the primary school up to the training of immigrant women (Familien Zentrum). We can try to transfer at least some of the innovative aspects of this activity in some of our charities that operate in this area.

The second point is the idea underlying that inspired the project for the elderly to ZAW1W. First we would like to stimulate the regional Cesvot to form a working group on these issues, in close collaboration with the Departments of Sociology, Pedagogy, etc. of the Tuscan Universities of Pisa, Florence and Siena.

We hope that the cooperation Ulm-Florence-Pisa will furtherly increased, through our participation in joint projects. We are all convinced that this road is the main way to help build a Europe of peoples.-
