Seniors volunteers consult international students in Ulm

A presentation by Angelika and Friedrich Sackmann, senior volunteers, iLE e.V., Germany, at the “Tell me” project meeting in Vienna.

The two projects are long established at Ulm University. In both, senior volunteers help foreign students in their first steps in Germany. Moving to another country is for many foreign students very stressfull, those who have not travelled much in the past may  suffer a cultural shock. The Ulm University has recognised the value of these two projects  in that it helps the foreign students to to understand the cultural differences and to adapt quicker to the life in foreign country. This can lead to a better performance in   their study.
