Im September 1998 begann mein Ruhestand, oder sollte man eher sagen Unruhestand? Meine Kollegen bereiteten mir eine wunderbare Abschiedsveranstaltung, und ich bekam viele Abschiedsgeschenke. Eine Kollegin hatte auf eine Karte einen Zeitungsausschnitt geklebt, der einen Witz darstellte. Jemand, der in den Ruhestand verabschiedet wird, wird gefragt, was er denn nun vorhabe mit seinem Leben.

Wie alles anfing. Was waren meine Motive, mich zu engagieren – und was habe ich davon?
